Sunday night review - Richardson finishes top as semi-final line up complete

April 27, 2020

Another great night of Remote League Darts as the league stage of the competition came to an end. Watch it all again on our You Tube channel.

James Richardson 7-3 Darryl Fitton

Another win for James Richardson as he secured top spot in the table with a convincing 7-3 win over Darryl Fitton. Fitton needed a win to have any hope of qualifying for the semi-finals on Monday but was blown away early by Richardson's sharp scoring. 6-0 down, Fitton came back to pick up three legs before Richardson put him out of his misery. Onto Finals Night for 'Ruthless'.

Paul Hogan 7-3 John Walton

Another spirited performance by John Walton as he ended his competition with a 7-3 loss to Paul Hogan. Walton finishes ninth in the standings but can be proud of his improving form in the last couple of nights. Hogan meanwhile finishes second as he marches on to the semi-finals. His class showed in the second half of this match as he took the final four legs of the game to win 7-3.

Jim Williams 7-2 Dean Winstanley

A late burst of legs from Jim Williams secured his place in the semi-finals as he beat Dean Winstanley 7-2. It's been a rough week for Dean as he finishes bottom of the table without a win to his name but hopefully this competition has put him back on the road to recovery. For Williams, a semi-final clash awaits on Monday night and form like this will put him in good stead for that.

Gary Robson 7-3 Wes Newton

Gary Robson knew it was impossible for him to qualify for the semi-finals going into this match but he put on another excellent display as he toyed with Wes Newton in a 7-3 win. Robson was always in control of the match as he finishes fifth in the standings, while former Premier League player Newton looks to rediscover his form of old as he finishes in eighth place.

Tony O'Shea 7-3 Alan Norris

Another night and another win for Tony O'Shea as he ended the league phase in third place in excellent form. A 3-0 lead early on gave O'Shea the platform he needed to kick on and while Norris remained competitive he never looked like catching the Stockport man. Norris ends the competition with a smile on his face and seventh place in the bag while for O'Shea it's a semi-final against Paul Hogan on Monday.
