Sunday night predictions - Colin Savage delivers his verdicts

April 26, 2020

Our man Colin Savage shares his predictions for the final night of the league stage of the Remote League Darts. You can watch all the action from 9:30 on our You Tube channel.

Daryl Fitton v James Richardson (21:30)

In the first game of the night it's first against fifth. 'Ruthless', after a 7-5 win against Jim Williams on Saturday night is guaranteed a semi-final spot no matter what the outcome here. Fitton, after a fantastic 7-5 win over Hogan really needs nothing less than two points here and other results to go his way. This should be a cracking game, and if Fitton can keep producing his best form this will go all the way. I wouldn't be surprised to see a 6-6 draw, but I'm going with Richardson to just nick this from 'The Dazzler'.

Prediction: Richardson to win 7-5

Paul Hogan v John Walton (22:00)

Game 2 of the night sees second against second bottom. Hogan is nearly certain to be in the top 4, barring a catastrophic collapse, and I just can't see that happening. He will be out to put his first defeat of the competition, at the hands of Darryl Fitton behind him, and secure his semi-final spot. 'John Boy' found a bit of the old form on Saturday with his best display yet, but Hogan will have far too much here for him to cope with. The only outcome I see is a landslide victory for Hogan.

Prediction: Hogan to win 7-1

Dean Winstanley v Jim Williams (22:30)

The third game of the night sees Dean Winstanley, currently occupying bottom spot, take on fourth placed Jim Williams. Williams will be smarting from losing to James Richardson on Saturday night and I fear he will be out to put Deano to the sword here. Winstanley will have to produce a level of form he hasn't previously showed yet in the league to trouble Williams at all here. With Williams scoring power and finishing ability I'm predicting another heavy loss for Winstanley here and Williams to confirm his place in semi finals.

Prediction: Williams to win 7-2

Gary Robson v Wes Newton (23:00)

'Big Robbo' has it all to do to make the top 4, he needs a huge win and other results to go his way to stand any chance of qualifying for Monday night. Newton was very unlucky on Night 8 against Tony O'Shea and will be looking for a similar performance here. Robson has been in great form, and I'm expecting that to continue here, and with advantage of throw, I think he'll come on top and just miss out on a top 4 place.

Prediction: Robson to win 7-4

Tony O'Shea v Alan Norris (23:30)

In the closing game of the night, and in fact the league phase, 'Silverback' takes on 'Chuck Norris'. O'Shea sits comfortably in third position and a point here guarantees him qualification for the semi finals. He has been in great form so far and it's hard to envisage that not being repeated tonight. Norris produced his best display to date on Saturday as he comfortably saw off Dean Winstanley. He will be out to upset the odds and sign off from the tournament on a high. This is another game I see going the distance with O'Shea just having too much and securing his top 4 spot.

Prediction: O'Shea to win 7-5
