Finals Night review - Richardson storms to Remote League Darts glory

April 28, 2020

The inaugural Remote Darts League drew to a close on Monday night. Watch all the action again on our You Tube channel.‍

James Richardson 8-2 Jim Williams

In the opening semi-final James Richardson belied his underdog odds as he blitzed past Jim Williams 8-2. Williams got off to a good start by taking the opening leg against the throw and was in the mix at 2-2 but it proved to be a false dawn. Richardson moved up the gears from there to take the next six legs and qualify for the final.‍

Paul Hogan 8-3 Tony O'Shea

There was another dominant performance in the second semi-final as Paul Hogan eased past Tony O'Shea 8-3. O'Shea, who performed with great credit to get this far in the competition, found it hard to stay in touch with Hogan after losing the opening two legs. O'Shea did get it back to 3-2 before Hogan stepped up his performance by taking five of the next six legs. Some high scoring and at a crack 9 darter saw Hogan go through 8-3.‍

James Richardson 10-3 Paul Hogan

We saw another one-sided match in the final as James Richardson took apart Paul Hogan 10-3 in a destructive win. 'Ruthless' leapt to a 3-0 win as he put Hogan under serious pressure. 'Crocodile Dundee' remained competitive as he kept himself in the match at 4-2 but from there Richardson upped the pace and the scoring. The league phase winner strung together five straight legs and before gifting Hogan a late consolation in the 12th leg he wrapped things up in the 13th. It was a well-deserved victory for Richardson.‍

The Remote Darts League will return soon with a new event. Keep an eye on our website for further details.
